Carburetors

First and foremost, we have been dedicating countless hours and resources toward our cleaning, polishing, and storage processes since the day we opened the doors. Having been in many shops as well as “parts businesses” over the years, I knew from day one that I wouldn’t be willing to settle for the way things have always been done. So, while most parts businesses list it dirty and throw it on a shelf to rust, we spend hours every day preparing each and every part , then carefully oiling and often wrapping the parts one at a time so you can be sure that what you see in the picture is what you receive.

At this level, there isn’t a ton to be done with carburetors. We bring in engines in bulk so generally, I can’t provide a history on how long the engine has been sitting, etc…For this reason, we always advise a rebuild on used carburetors before use. What we do here is to thoroughly clean the carburetor in our parts washer. We remove the bowl and clean that out at the same time. We inspect the butterfly valves to ensure that they’re tight in their respective holes and we go over the linkage and the mechanical portions of the carburetor to ensure that everything is in working order. We don’t generally rebuild carburetors because after they arrive, they still have to be adjusted and not doing it at the same time can make it hard to guarantee a rebuild. We will rebuild carburetors prior to shipping per your request and we’ll do the work very reasonably, but in such a case, you’ll be assuming responsibility for installation and adjustment. Also per request, we will be happy to ultrasonically clean carburetors prior to shipping and we will not charge you for this. In this case, please call us to arrange.
