This Yamaha lower unit is in good condition. The unit shifts and spins without binding. The propeller shaft is straight and driveshaft splines show little to no wear. The units oil when being drained showed a small amount of water but no metal. The paint is banged up but in overall good condition. The units paint is banged but that is entirely cosmetic. It does have some small chips in the skeg, please see pictures. The unit was pressure checked before separation of the top and bottom. 


The unit has been drained of oil and will need to be added prior to installation.

To obtain the 6 month warranty, you MUST send in your core lower unit. We will even pay to have your core shipped to us! Below is the criteria required to validate the warranty:

  • Core must be of rebuildable quality
  • Cannot be locked up - driveshaft must spin
  • Up to 30 days from the date of purchase to send in your core
  • Covers mechanical aspects ONLY
  • Warranty begins from date of purchase
  • Core must be complete and cannot be missing parts

Upon receipt of your core, we will inspect the unit to determine if it meets the criteria to validate the 6 month warranty. We reserve the right to accept or reject any core at our discretion. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us. 

You will receive two copies of the terms and conditions for the lower unit 6 month warranty. One copy is for your records and the other copy MUST be signed and returned with your core. Without a returned signed copy, the 6 month warranty will not be valid. You are responsible for returning the paperwork with your core. The 6 month warranty ONLY covers the mechanical aspects of the lower unit.
