| Additional Info | Our housing are cleaned, then soda blasted. This is why they have a flat gray look. Soda blasting leaves them spotless, dry, very rust resistant, and easy to pick out damage and defects. Soda is not the same as sand blasting, which leaves a pitted, rough finish. The gear is flat gray, but it’s a smooth finish with a slight sheen to it. If you prefer a shinier, polished finish, please call in your order and let us know at that time. We have a centrifugal polisher that we can process the gear through for you and that leaves it shiny. It will work the same either way but for inspection and then storage purposes, this is the best method of processing them. This housing is in good condition. Would make a great replacment part for your outboard. |
