| Additional Info | Our gears are cleaned, then soda blasted. This is why they have a flat gray look. Soda blasting leaves them spotless, dry, very rust resistant, and easier to pick out damages and defects. Soda is not the same as sand blasting, which leaves a pitted, rough finish. The gear is flat gray, but it’s a smooth finish with a slight sheen to it. When done this way, we’ve found that probably 1 out of 3 gears are actually not in sellable condition. There is no way that we can sell you a greasy or rusty gear and say with certainty that it’s in usable condition, so this takes the guesswork out of it. Mercury forward gear in good used conditon. There is some pitting on the gear teeth, but it will not affect the use of this part. The clutch plates show very little use. The bearing will need to be replaced prior to installation. Please refer to the photos to verify what is included in this listing and the condition this gear is in prior to ordering. There is nothing stopping this from being an excellent replacement and/or backup gear for your motor. Purchase with confidence!
