Mercury Lower Unit Late 1960's 40 50 HP Outboard Short Shaft

For sale is a good, used Mercury lower unit. We are not sure what this came off of, but to the best of our knowledge, this is a late 1960's 40/50 HP unit. The drive shaft on this measures 17 1/4 inches to the top of the pin on the driveshaft. The driveshaft spline count is 11 and the prop shaft spline count is 13. We have drained this unit and there was not any indications of any water or metal in the gearcasing. We have also pressure tested the unit and it is holding are pefectly. The only things that I see wrong with this unit is a cornor missing off of the cavitation plate and the skeg looks as though it has been through some low water as there are some chips off of it. Other than that, some scratches on the paint, but nothing that can't be fixed. This really is a great replacement unit for your engine!
