For sale is a used lower unit from a Mercury 40 HP 4 cylinder engine. This is a long shaft lower unit, it measures 21 inches. There is some wear on the skeg, but this will not effect the performance of this unit. We drained it and it is free of any metal or water in the gear housing. We also pressure tested it and it is has no leaks.The unit was also tested to make sure it was shifting in and out of gear properly and it was. The drive shaft has 11 splines and the spline count on the prop shaft is 13.
You will need to add oil, as it has been drained for testing and shipping, and a new impeller, which we always recommend on any used lower unit.
If you would like a new impeller placed in the lower unit prior to shipping, we will do so for the cost of the parts only. In other words, if you call in your order, we will charge you for the parts and throw in the labor for free. Our number is under our contact information.
