Great freshwater lower unit. The paint on this unit is slightly worn on the skeg. The cavitation plate is in good condition. The skeg does have a small chip on the back side. The drive shaft measures at 21 1/2in from the top of the water pump housing to the top of the pin with a spline count of 11.
The unit was drained and is free of any metal or water in the gear housing. The case has been opened to inspect the gears. The unit was pressure tested and is in need of a shift rod reseal. The unit was also tested to make sure it was shifting in and out of gear properly and it is. This would make an excellent replacement for your outboard.
We do suggest replacing the impeller before installation of this unit. This can be done for the cost of the part alone with no labor if you contact us before you purchase this unit.

This lower unit is also interchangeable with the 1971-1979 40-70 HP Engines but this model has square cavitation plate and the 1971-1979 has the round. This unit will not fit the newer 90s model 3 Cylinder 50-60 HP Engines as they have a bigger gearcase.
