This lower unit came off of an 85 HP freshwater Mercury motor. This lower unit is interchangeable with the Inline 6 but with a different gear ratio.
The skeg does have several chips in it and the paint is rough. There is a little paint coming off of the front of the unit but nothing that would affectthe ability for this to perform well.
The driveshaft spline count is 8 and the length of the driveshaft is 20 3/4". The spline count on the propeller shaft is 15. This unit was drained and is free of any metal or water in the gear housing. The unit was pressure tested and is needs a driveshaft reseal. The unit was also tested to make sure it was shifting in and out of gear properly and it is. This would make a great replacement unit for your motor!
