  • This is a fully dressed 2000 model 3.0L Mercury 200hp Optimax/DFI. 
  • The only thing missing is the flywheel cover.
  • As a dressed powerhead, this can be installed on any mercury 3.0L Optimax from 1998-2003.
  • As a complete powerhead, this could be used to replace EFI motors with the adapter / exhaust plate with part number ending in A17, A16, and A15.
  • Both pumps for the VST were tested and did run however we are unable to check the condition of the interior of fuel lines or injector clogging.
  • This engine is equipped with the black air injectors which were all OHM's tested and read between 1.8 and 2.0 Ω. Passed Inspection.
  • The fuel injectors were also tested and read between 2.3 and 2.5 Ω. Passed Inspection.
  • Compression was tested on a cold engine and tested evenly 70 PSI across all cylinders. This motor has been sitting in storage and the piston rings are slightly stuck. The evenly low compression suggests that it just needs to be run for the rings to expand back out.
  • We are unable to test this motor at operating temp. From the factory these are low compression engines and will only run around 90-100 PSI at operating temp in perfect conditions.
  • This engine also has good spark and all wires and other components appear to be in great physical condition.
  • Some teeth on the flywheel do have minor wear, please see pictures. 
  • We would consider this powerhead to be in ready to install condition.  As stated above, it needs an hour or run time and the rings will expand back to open and this engine will run for many years yet.

Fits:
1998-2003 - 200 HP 3.0L.  While this engine is a 200, you can change ECU and injectors and this could be made into a 225 or 250 simply enough.
