This lower unit was removed from a freshwater engine and shifts and spins well.
The paint is chipped, scuffed and scratched in areas, but these are cosmetic issues and will not affect performance.
The drive shaft measures 18 7/8"" Long and has 6 splines.
The prop shaft is straight & has 8 splines.
All splines are in good condition.
This unit has been drained and will need oil put in prior to use.

The shift rod is the most important piece of this unit when interchanging. There are 3 different shift rods that will differ in the late 60's early to mid 70's lower units. This shift rod measures 19 1/4" and has 8 splines. The splines are just over an inch long. Please look at the pictures closely to make sure the shift rods are a match.

**Due to shipping restrictions, lower unit are shipped empty. Every lower unit requires new oil to be installed when you receive it.

To obtain the 6 month warranty, you MUST send in your core lower unit. We will even pay to have your core shipped to us! Below is the criteria required to validate the warranty:

Core must be of rebuildable quality
Cannot be locked up - driveshaft must spin
Up to 30 days from the date of purchase to send in your core
Covers mechanical aspects ONLY
Warranty begins from date of purchase
Core must be complete and cannot be missing parts

You will receive two copies of the terms and conditions for the lower unit 6 month warranty. One copy MUST be signed and returned with your core. Without a returned signed copy, the one year warranty will not be valid.

Upon receipt of your core, we will inspect the unit to determine if it meets the criteria to validate the 6 month warranty. We reserve the right to accept or reject any core at our discretion.
