  • The propeller shaft is straight and has 13 splines. 
  • The driveshaft has 14 splines that are showing no significant wear.
  • Paint is a little beat up. 
  • This unit spins and shifts smoothly.
  • Oil was milky, but free of heavy meatal
  • This unit did not pressure check as it is leaking from the shift rod. 

    We are unable to ship this with oil in, so you must add oil before use.

Please note that this lower unit is for split cases ONLY! The later 25 HP motors joined with the 35 HP having a single-piece unit and this will not fit on those engines. 

Depending on the year of your motor, there was a simple break down for the split case units....

1979-1983 - 25 HP with Fine splined driveshaft - 13 spline propeller shaft
1984-1997 - 25/28 HP with 14 spline driveshaft - 13 spline propeller shaft.

In both cases, split case only.  This unit will not replace a 1 piece housing
