CONDITION:
- Splined upper steering shaft hole — confirmed splined, not square
- Professionally inspected, no cracks, no visible damage
- Scuffs and minor wear consistent with a used piece, no impact on function
- Splines are clean and tight. They are undamaged.
- Bearing inside is good.

FITMENT:
- 1974-1991 MerCruiser Pre-Alpha R, MR, and early Alpha One Gen 1 sterndrives
- 120, 140, 165, 225, 233, 260, 470, 485, 898 HP engines
- SPLINED ONLY — will NOT fit square-hole upper steering shaft units. MerCruiser transitioned from splined to square starting at I-Drive serial 5490562 and V8 I-Drive serial 5472161. Some units continued to use splined past that point. Confirm your existing gimbal ring has a splined hole before ordering.
- Does NOT fit Alpha One Gen II (1992 and newer) — different design, parts not interchangeable.
