1989-1992 Johnson Evinrude FULLY DRESSED Powerhead 40 48 50 HP 2 cylinder 2 str

This powerhead was removed from a freshwater engine and is in excellent condition. Upon bringing this engine to our shop, we have independently verified compression readings on this powerhead by our mechanics. The readings on the cylinders were 130/135 PSI each.  The engine has solid blue spark, as it should. As you can tell from the pictures, the VRO pump has been removed from this unit and has been replaced with the standard fuel pump.  

We haven't started the engine and therefore the carburetors may need to be rebuilt. It has 40 HP carbs but this engine can be changed to a 48/50 by changing the carburetors.  

This powerhead will correctly bolt on any 40, 48, or 50 HP midsecton from 1989-1992.  Please note that this has the red plug wiring harness. After you change the powerhead, you need to order any future parts to the model TE40ELCEC.  This same model number would also cover any orders for your midsection and lower unit parts in the future.
