This specific lower unit is in excellent condition.  The paint is in pretty good condition, with only light scuffs and scratches. This does not come with the trim tab. Upon inspection of the unit, we did not that the gears are in like-new condition. From the top of the water pump, the driveshaft measures 20-1/4" long and has 13 splines. The propeller shaft has 15 splines. The skeg does show signs of wear, so we have installed a new skeggard, a $100 value itself. Given our unprecedented 1 year warranty on every lower unit, you will never find a better deal on an OEM lower unit.  Purchase with confidence!

To obtain the 1 year warranty, you MUST send in your core lower unit. We will even pay to have your core shipped to us! Below is the criteria required to validate the warranty:

  • Core must be of rebuildable quality
  • Cannot be locked up - driveshaft must spin
  • Up to 30 days from the date of purchase to send in your core
  • Covers mechanical aspects ONLY
  • Warranty begins from date of purchase
  • Core must be complete and cannot be missing any parts

Upon receipt of your core, we will inspect the unit to determine if it meets the criteria to validate the 1 year warranty. When you receive your purchased lower unit, there will be installation paperwork included in the package. One copy of the paperwork must be signed returned with your core. If it does not, you will be contacted and granted a 30 day warranty. We reserve the right to accept or reject any core at our discretion. If you're looking this up for the 100, 115, or 125 HP, you'll have noticed that the lower units are essentially identical. The difference in the 2 units is that the 100-125 HP (4 cylinder models) has a 2.0 to 1 gear ratio. The 75/90 has a 2.4 to 1 gear ratio. The 2 units are interchangeable but may require you to change propellers in order to maintain the same speeds your boat would do before. So, in short-this unit is for 70-90 HP 3 cylinders from 1987-1997. It will look and fit identically with the 100-125 HP 4 cylinder models in the same year, but the gear ratio is different.
