Add oil and get on the water! This lower unit was removed from a freshwater motor and is in excellent used condition. From the top of the water pump, the driveshaft measures approximately 19" long. There are 4 splines on the top of the driveshaft and 13 on the propeller shaft. This unit was professionally inspected, cleaned and primed.  The unit shifts and spins smoothly with no binding and the prop shaft is straight.  The oil was checked when the unit was drained and no water or metal shavings were found.  The has been stripped and primed and is ready for it to be your favorite color! Holes have been drilled in cavitation plate on the rear of the unit and this should not affect performance or integrity.  The gears and clutch are in excellent condition with very little wear noted.  This unit has been fully resealed, pressure checked, and a new impeller installed.  We didn't like the looks of the skeg guard so we installed a brand new one of those also! Please refer to the photos to see what is included in this listing as well as to verify the excellent condition this lower unit is in.

Please note that we cannot ship lower units with oil in them and this will have to be added prior to installation.  Given our unprecedented 1 year warranty on this lower unit, you will never find a better deal on an OEM lower unit.  Purchase with confidence!

To obtain the 1 year warranty, you MUST send in your core lower unit. We will even pay to have your core shipped to us! Below is the criteria required to validate the warranty:

• Core must be of rebuildable quality
• Cannot be locked up - driveshaft must spin
• Up to 30 days from the date of purchase to send in your core
• Covers mechanical aspects ONLY
• Warranty begins from date of purchase
• Core must be complete and cannot be missing parts

You will receive two copies of the terms and conditions for the lower unit one year warranty. One copy is for your records and the other copy MUST be signed and returned with your core. Without a returned signed copy, the one year warranty will not be valid. You are responsible for returning the paperwork with your core. The one warranty ONLY covers the mechanical aspects of the lower unit. 

Upon receipt of your core, we will inspect the unit to determine if it meets the criteria to validate the 1 year warranty. We reserve the right to accept or reject any core at our discretion. Identical to earlier 1973-75 lower unit, but up is forward on this
model and it’s opposite on earlier model. Also, the driveshaft is shorter than the earlier models. Approximately ½”, measuring 19-1/4”
