| Additional Info | This lower unit is in excellent condition and is ready for your engine. There are not any cracks or breaks in the housing whatsoever. The paint is chipped and scratched but this is purely cosmetic and will not affect performance. This unit spins and shifts smoothly with no binding. The prop shaft is straight, driveshaft splines are showing little wear. This units oil was dirty but free of metal and water. The gears and clutch are in good condition with slight wear on the clutch. This does not come with the trim tab. From the top of the water pump, the driveshaft measures approximately 21-1/4" long and has 8 splines. The propeller shaft has 15 splines. A skeg guard has been installed. This unit has been fully resealed with a new impeller. We cannot ship lower units with oil in them so this must be done prior to installation. Purchase with confidence! General Information

| Fits: | 1976-1988 - 175 200 HP - 1.87:1 Gear Ratio - 135 150 HP - 2.0:1 Gear ratio - therefore you will need to change your propeller Mercury V6’s originally used a preload pin from 1976-1988. Aftermarket replacements and 1989 & up V6 lower units did not. Therefore, if you have a V6 lower unit with a preload pin, it could only be used only from 1976-1988. If you have a lower unit that does not have a preload pin, it can be used from 1976-2005. Also, please note that this is the bigger bullet style housing with a 4.75" diameter. |
