This listing is for a good, used lower unit from a 1973 Chrysler 85 hp engine.This probably fits other engines as well, but we do not have a cross reference this far back. The paint is in fair condition, showing some wear in areas. It has definitely not been in saltwater.
This unit has been fully inspected and pressure-checked. The seals are holding pressure, so this will need only an impeller and new lower unit oil and you will be back in the water.
We realize how hard it is to identify some of these units without any comprehensive cross-referencing available. In order to try and help with it, we've taken the following measurements and identification:
23-1/4" from top of waterpump to top of driveshaft. 15 splines.
5-1/4" from housing to end of propshaft. 18 splines
The opening in the housing is 4-1/4" right in front of the waterpump.
The length of the cavitation plate is 20-1/2". That's measured from the back end of the cavitation plate (at the boat) to the front edge (furthest from boat).
