The propeller shaft has 13 splines. All of the splines are in great condition. As seen in the pictures, this lower unit does not come with the driveshaft or waterpump, but could quickly be installed. You can easily insert your driveshaft into this unit. There was no metal or water in the oil, propshaft is straight and spins smoothly, and this holds pressure up to 12 PSI. This will come exactly as pictured, so purchase with confidence! Please add oil before use General Information

You will receive two copies of the terms and conditions for the lower unit 6 month warranty. One copy MUST be signed and returned with your core. Without a returned signed copy, the 6 month warranty will not be valid. Upon receipt of your core, we will inspect the unit to determine if it meets the criteria to validate the 6 month warranty. We reserve the right to accept or reject any core at our discretion. We also offer a 45 day return policy on this product so you can purchase it with confidence. The later 25 HP motors joined with the 35 HP having a single-piece unit and this will not fit on those engines. Depending on the year of your motor, there was a simple break down for the split case units.... 1978 - 4 spline driveshaft - 13 spline propeller shaft 1979-1983 - Fine splined driveshaft - 13 spline propeller shaft 1984-1997 - 14 spline driveshaft - 13 spline propeller shaft With the simple addition of a driveshaft, this lower unit virtually work for anyone of these models. We have provided this cross-reference with the resources we have available in regards to fitment. This most likely will not fit every model for the years and horsepowers we have listed.
