1 YEAR WTY! 1968-1978 Mercury 20" Lower Unit 65 80 85 HP

This is a load pin style 65, 80, and 85 HP Mercury inline 4 lower unit with a 2.3 to 1 gear ratio, used from 1968-1978.  It can be used in place of the inline 6 (90-150 HP) in the same age range but those units use a 2.0 to 1 gear ratio so you would need to change props at a minimum.  

This unit has been stripped down for a full inspection.  That includes bearings, gears, and clutch plates.  Any damaged or worn parts have been replaced.  It was reassembled with new seals and comes with a 1 year mechanical warranty in exchange for a spinning core.  We pay the shipping for the core but again, it must be spinning.  

This lower unit has a load pin.  Some did and some didn't.  It's irrelevant.  They will interchange.

To obtain the 1 year warranty, you MUST send in your core lower unit. We will even pay to have your core shipped to us! Below is the criteria required to validate the warranty:

• Core must be of rebuildable quality
• Cannot be locked up - driveshaft must spin
• Up to 30 days from the date of purchase to send in your core
• Covers mechanical issues and workmanship ONLY
• Warranty begins from date of purchase
• Core must be complete and cannot be missing any parts

Upon receipt of your core, we will inspect the unit to determine if it meets the criteria to validate the 1 year warranty. When you receive your purchased lower unit, there will be installation paperwork included in the package. One copy of the paperwork must be signed returned with your core. If it does not, you will be contacted and granted a 30 day warranty. We reserve the right to accept or reject any core at our discretion.
