This specific lower unit is in excellent condition.  The gears are in like-new condition and the unit shifts well. The paint on the unit is scuffed and scratched in some areas, but this is entirely cosmetic. There are not any cracks or breaks in the housing whatsoever. There is some white water build up on the inside of the housing, please see pictures. This does not come with the trim tab. Please note that there are holes in the cavitation plate, where a whale tail once was. From the top of the water pump, the driveshaft measures 19.25" long and has 14 splines. The propeller shaft has 13 splines. Given our unprecedented 1 year warranty on every lower unit, you will never find a better deal on an OEM lower unit.  Purchase with confidence!

To obtain the 1 year warranty, you MUST send in your core lower unit. We will even pay to have your core shipped to us! Below is the criteria required to validate the warranty:

  • Core must be of rebuildable quality
  • Cannot be locked up - driveshaft must spin
  • Up to 30 days from the date of purchase to send in your core
  • Covers mechanical aspects ONLY
  • Warranty begins from date of purchase
  • Core must be complete and cannot be missing any parts

Upon receipt of your core, we will inspect the unit to determine if it meets the criteria to validate the 1 year warranty. When you receive your purchased lower unit, there will be installation paperwork included in the package. One copy of the paperwork must be signed returned with your core. If it does not, you will be contacted and granted a 30 day warranty. We reserve the right to accept or reject any core at our discretion.
